Resolutions and credit pricing for every model
Playcut bills in credits. Four billing shapes cover the whole catalog:

Credits are held at submission, before the job is dispatched. If a task fails or is cancelled, the hold is reversed and the credits come back. A completed task keeps the hold — there is no second charge at the end.
What a credit costs
Section titled “What a credit costs”Credits arrive with a subscription (monthly grant, resets monthly even on annual billing) or as a one-off pack.

Images — per image
Section titled “Images — per image”Text-to-image and reference-to-image cost the same on both Gemini models. Grok charges double for reference work because xAI bills the input image as well as the output.

Multi-region edit is a flat 25 credits per run regardless of how many regions you edit. It runs on Nano Banana Pro and is the cheapest way to touch up an existing Pro image — a full Pro regeneration costs 67.
Grok Imagine Image tops out at 2K. If you need 4K, the cheapest path is Nano Banana 2 at 43 credits.
Resolution caps by plan
Section titled “Resolution caps by plan”Image resolution is gated by subscription tier:

Requesting a resolution above your plan cap returns 403 before any credits are held. Workspaces with no subscription are also restricted to image tools only — video, voice and Act are unavailable until a plan is active.

Two models break the 6-second assumption:
- Veo 3.1 only accepts 4, 6 or 8 seconds, and the duration must be 8 at 1080p, at 4K, whenever reference images are used, and for extensions. So the cheapest 1080p Veo clip is 8 s × 160 = 1,280 credits, and the cheapest 4K clip is 8 s × 240 = 1,920 credits.
- Omni Flash has no duration parameter. Playcut pins and bills a fixed 10 seconds: 10 × 40 = 400 credits per clip, every time.
The same rate table is used for extensions and interpolations. A Veo extension adds 7 seconds of footage per call, but the request is required to carry durationSeconds: 8 and is billed on that value at 720p — 8 × 160 = 1,280 credits per extension. Veo interpolation is likewise fixed at 8 seconds, so it also costs 1,280 credits at 720p.
Actor Act — per second, plus a scene charge
Section titled “Actor Act — per second, plus a scene charge”Act runs a scene image and then a video pass. Every tier adds a flat 15 credit scene charge on top of the per-second video rate. Blank means the tier does not offer that resolution.

Total = 15 + (durationSeconds × rate). A 10-second 720p Act costs 85 credits on fastest, 185 on fast, 315 on plus, and 365 on pro. Supported durations differ per tier — the API returns the exact estimate on submission.
Tier labels are the only engine identifiers on the wire. The underlying provider models are internal and may change without a rename.
Music — per song

There is no duration parameter on either model, so there is no per-second math. Clip is always 30 seconds; Pro is roughly two minutes and prompt-influenced only. Both accept up to 10 reference images at no extra cost.
Voice — per 1,000 characters
Section titled “Voice — per 1,000 characters”TTS is billed on character count, rounded up to the next thousand with a minimum of one unit. A 40-character line and a 900-character paragraph cost the same.

Voice library operations are flat-rate:

The clone-from-audio flow runs the affordability pre-check at 5 credits, but the credit hold itself resolves through the voice-clone rate, which is 0. Budget for 5 in case that changes; expect 0 on today’s bill. See TTS Voices.
Qwen requests are capped at 600 characters per request (the provider’s documented limit) — Playcut rejects longer Qwen requests with a clear error before credits are held. Gemini voices accept up to 5,000 characters.
Cheapest path
Section titled “Cheapest path”When cost is the deciding factor:
- Image, any size up to 2K — Grok Imagine Image at 10 credits. It is 3.4× cheaper than Nano Banana 2 and 6.7× cheaper than Nano Banana Pro. It does not do 4K, and its reference mode doubles to 20.
- Image at 4K — Nano Banana 2 at 43 credits. Nano Banana Pro at 4K is 84.
- Editing an existing image — multi-region edit at a flat 25 credits, cheaper than regenerating on Nano Banana Pro.
- Video — Seedance 2.0 at 480p, 10 credits per second. A 5-second draft is 50 credits. At 720p, Seedance stays cheapest at 21 cr/s, versus 160 for Veo.
- Video at 1080p — Seedance 2.0 and Wan 2.7 at 60 cr/s, versus 72 for HappyHorse and 160 for Veo.
- Video at 4K — Seedance 2.0 at 108 cr/s with the full 4–15 s range, versus Veo at 240 cr/s locked to 8 s.
- Actor video — the
fastesttier at 7 cr/s + 15. - Music — Lyria 3 Clip at 20 credits for a 30-second track.
- Text to speech — the default
qwenprovider at 15 credits per 1,000 characters.
The general shape: iterate cheap (Grok images, Seedance 480p, Act fastest), then re-run the winning prompt on the premium model. Veo 3.1 is 16× the per-second cost of Seedance 480p, so drafting on Veo is the single most expensive habit in the catalog.
Honest caveats
Section titled “Honest caveats”- One provider cost behind these prices is unverified. The Qwen TTS rate is priced from an internal cost estimate, not a published provider price list. (HappyHorse 1.1 and Wan 2.7 were both verified against the DashScope console on 2026-07-24.) Our credit prices are firm either way.
- Failed upstream requests still hold credits first. Playcut validates model, aspect ratio and resolution before holding credits for images. For some video combinations the provider is the one that rejects the request — the hold is placed, the task fails, and the credits are refunded automatically.
- Omni Flash always bills 10 seconds even though the provider generates 3–10 seconds and decides the length itself.
- Reference mode is not always the same price. On Grok Imagine Image it is exactly double the text-to-image rate.
